RULES AND DIRECTIONS FOR COMPLETING

THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The West Islip Soccer Club offers scholarships to High School Seniors who display a high level of dedication and participation to the West Islip Soccer Club. The following are rules and directions for submitting a complete application.  The deadline for handing in a completed entry form is April 5, 2013.

The West Islip Soccer Club offers up to a maximum of eight (8) scholarships. There are three requirements to be eligible for this scholarship:

1. the student must be a graduating senior from an area High School and planning to attend College in the fall;
2. the student must have played soccer for the West Islip Soccer Club for four full seasons beyond the Under 9/10 Age Group in either the Travel or Inter-league programs; and
3. the student must have volunteered a minimum of twenty five (25) hours to the West Islip Soccer Club, which includes Field Maintenance, Registration, Indoor Tournament, Hospice Walk, High Flyers Program, Scholarship Dinner Dance, Ball Boy/Girl for varsity games, and the West Islip Lion Heart Soccer Fair. These twenty five (25) hours of volunteer service must be certified by a parent and two past or present members of The West Islip Soccer Club Board of Directors.

Recipients of this scholarship will be chosen via Scholarship Committee and will be notified by a Club Official. The winners will be announced at a West Islip Soccer Club function. 

The West Islip Soccer Club Scholarship Committee will make the final determination as to the eligibility of each applicant. The Scholarship Committee consists of people (the “selectors”) who are part of the West Islip Soccer Club.  The selectors cannot have children eligible to receive a scholarship.
